DukeEngage is pleased to share news about the Career Center’s Internship Funding Program, which aims to make it possible for more students to engage in opportunities to apply their education and explore options after Duke, whether paid or unpaid.
Through the generosity of corporate, individual and class donors, the Career Center is able to offer grants ranging from $600 to $2,500 for students who accept unpaid or low-paying internships and demonstrate financial need. Please note that the process for obtaining one of these grants occurs relatively early in the spring semester.
The types of awards available for funding internships include:
* Unrestricted Funds – any employment sector
* Service Funds – service / non-profit environments
* Health Service Funds – health service sector
* Durham Service Funds – service internships in the Durham community during the summer months
More details can be found on the Career Center website
When compiling a project, also be sure to check DukeConnect, which is a database of alumni that may be able to offer you ideas or even placement.
