On Tuesday, March 1, the Duke University School of Nursing will host a symposium on global women’s health from 8:30am to 3:15pm, featuring plenary sessions on breast and cervical cancer, reproductive health and stress and adaptation in women.
The symposium lineup includes four Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI) faculty members:
- Kathryn Whetten (opening remarks)
- Nimmi Ramanujam (Breast and Reproductive Cancers and Optical Technological Innovations)
- Melissa Watt (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders in South Africa: Opportunities for Venue-based Interventions)
- Kathleen Sikkema (Sexual Trauma and HIV: Development of an Intervention to Improve Care Engagement among South African Women)
The event will take place in the Christine Siegler Pearson Building at 307 Trent Drive in Durham, North Carolina.
Co-sponsored by DGHI and a number of other Duke entities, this event is free and open to the public; however, registration is required.
