Assistant Professor: Cardiovascular Epidemiology
Duke University’s Global Health Institute (DGHI) and the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) seek an epidemiologist with expertise in cardiovascular diseases (CVD), preferably in low and middle income settings, to assist with a developing research program in global CVD. DGHI undertakes and coordinates global health education, research, and policy related programs involving many disciplines throughout the university, including the medical center. The DCRI is the world’s largest academic clinical research organization, combining the clinical expertise and academic leadership of a premier teaching hospital with the full-service operational capabilities of a major contract research organization. The candidate will collaborate with investigators in DCRI and DGHI, and have the opportunity to join ongoing projects in India, China, and Kenya.
The position is at the assistant professor level. Departmental appointment and faculty track will be determined once the final candidate is selected.
The successful applicant is expected to develop an externally funded research program and possess a strong interest in teaching and mentoring graduate and professional students. There are numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with many academic units across the university.
