Resources for Researchers

Several offices at Duke and within DGHI provide services to help investigators design and perform research. Below are some of the the most commonly used resources for identifying funding opportunities, understanding research policies and procedures, designing and carrying out clinical studies, and developing research skills.

Duke Office of Clinical Research

DOCR provides navigation, tools and training to support the conduct of clinical research in which Duke serves as an investigative site, including support for study startup, database development and project coordination.

The DGHI Research Design & Analysis Core uses rigorous design and analytic methods to strengthen global health research and education through meaningful collaboration with its faculty and students.

SOPs and Policies

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Clinical Trials

The Clinical Trials Unit at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center has prepared numerous SOPs for clinical trials that meet NIH requirements. Most of these SOPs were developed for AIDS clinical trials, many of these documents can be modified and extrapolated to meet your specific project needs.
