Serve
The challenges of global health require action from everyone – students, faculty, business, government, organizations and philanthropists. Some have the ability to set in motion large programs and policies. Others work on smaller, individual projects. But every effort makes a difference.
We believe that it is our mission to take the knowledge generated at Duke and use it for the betterment of society.
Duke University offers many different ways to be of service in global health:
- Choose an on-going or one time volunteer service opportunity in our local Durham Community
- Choose a fieldwork opportunity from the list of Duke Global Health Institute sponsored projects for students.
- Take part in a global health service project organized by other centers and institutions
- Join a student global health advocacy group
- Volunteer to help sort surplus medical supplies to be sent overseas through REMEDY
- Join a Global Health PLUS, faculty-sponsored service project to take medical equipment overseas
- Check out job opportunities on our Employment Page
- Consider making a donation to support the Duke Global Health Institute
