Charles manages a number of research projects in Tanzania, including the Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI), AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP), HIV Associated Malignancies Training and Research Program (HAMTRP) and Impact and Social Ecology of Bacterial Zoonoses in Northern Tanzania. He is responsible for project management in coordination with and under the supervision of the Principal Investigators. In this capacity, he contributes to study design, implementation, and analysis; monitors and reports on project progress; and facilitates communication among project investigators and partners. He spends a significant amount of time working with partners at project sites in Tanzania. He also contributes to the pre and post award activities specifically in proposal development, publication writing, and other dissemination efforts including the coordination of workshops and trainings. Charles has an MPH from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. He is also pursuing a PhD at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
