Our Work

Combining Ecological and Molecular Models to Understand the Evolutionary Dynamics of Influenza

Project Objectives

This grant is currently in its final year of funding. We have developed 'phylodynamic' models for influenza as well as statistical methods to confront these models against available epidemiological case data and sequence data. We are currently in the process of extending these models to other hosts of influenza virus (equine, avian, and swine) and to other flu variants besides H3N2 in humans.
