Our Work Map

Through the Duke Cookstoves Initiative, researchers are addressing the benefits of improved cookstoves and what it takes for people in the developing world to adopt them. Millions die each year from the environmental impacts of cooking with poorly functioning stoves or open fires. This global health issue and other DGHI research underway in the areas of water quality, orphan health, cancer and tobacco control, and mental health, all have the capacity to influence policy and help save lives.
