Our Work Map

Among various environmental health projects, DGHI faculty are examining harmful levels of fluorosis in the groundwater of the Main Ethiopian Rift, where families depend on the water source as their drinking water. In stark contrast to this research is another long-term study on the physical and mental health of orphaned and abandoned children. Through the Positive Outcomes for Orphans project, faculty researchers are engaged in the largest study of its kind to learn about the lives and needs of orphans, and the factors that can be linked with better outcomes as they becomes adults. Students at all levels, from undergraduate to professional, are involved in these and other global health research projects taking place in Ethiopia.
