Our Work Map

Peru

In the Peruvian Amazon, DGHI faculty are using a multidisciplinary approach to better understand the dynamics of environmental change, population growth and human health. As people continue to encroach upon the tropical wildnerness, researchers are studying the many drivers of malaria, particularly their relationship with migration and land use changes like deforestation. Other studies being undertaken in Peru include the health impacts of mercury contamination and malnutrition, and anemia on school attendance.
