The Incoherence of China’s National Health Development Strategies

In the December issue of the American Journal of Public Health, Shenglan Tang and colleagues highlight the patchiness and fragmentation of China policies that sought to provide safe, effective and affordable health care services to all citizens. They suggest that this incoherency is epitomized by China’s failure to implement key parts of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control treaty. In the policy brief, they explore these issues and challenges as China continues to see a rise in non-communicable diseases.
