With the formal approval by the China's Ministry of Education to establish Duke Kunshan University (DKU), the Duke Global Health Institute will begin offering the Master of Science in Global Health next fall. The DKU MSc-GH is modeled after the highly successful program pioneered at Duke, which provides students with a solid foundation in global health research methods and allows them to design and implement a research project in the field. In its fifth year, the MSc-GH at Duke has trained nearly 100 global health leaders. A team of six Duke faculty members will teach in the DKU MSc-GH.

DKU will also be home to the Global Health Research Center dedicated to addressing issues of health inequalities in China and the region.  Under the leadership of health policy expert Shenglan Tang, the Center will be closely tied to the needs of China with a focus on chronic disease, environmental health, and health policy and systems.

DKU is a joint venture institution created by Duke University and Wuhan University and the City of Kunshan. The campus will enroll its first students in fall 2014. Applications are now being accepted for the DKU MSc-GH.
