Keith Dear, research professor of global health and director of the MSc-GH in China, has been appointed a key member of the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN).  The network includes international climate scientists who are dedicated to helping cities address the causes and consequences of climate change. Dear will be part of an expert team that will produce an assessment on urban climate change and human health. The Second UCCRN Assessment Report on Climate Change and Cities (ARC3-2) will cover a range of issues, from urban health to food to water and energy systems, transportation, economics and private finance, and governance.

“The cornerstone of our strategy is to bring in, right from the start, people from all relevant backgrounds to make their special contributions to our work,” said Dear. “This will ensure that the ARC3-2 project can identify and promote climate change solutions that really work, both for cities and for the people who live in them.”

The report will be published in 2015.
