Hayden B. Bosworth, Ph.D., a research professor in Duke Medical Center’s Department of Medicine, has won a two-year $275,000 grant from a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation program, which evaluates efforts to eliminate racial and ethnic healthcare disparities in local communities.

The grant, under the foundation’s “Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change” program, will allow Bosworth and his colleagues to evaluate Duke’s efforts to improve the care of minority patients suffering from cardiovascular disease and diabetes, for which evidence of race and ethnic disparities in care is strong.

Nine other organizations from around the country will receive similar grants.  They were selected from a pool of 134 proposals.
