Wenhui Mao

Postdoctoral Fellow

Wenhui received her PhD from Fudan University, in the Department of Health Economics. She has been working extensively in the health reform and health polices of China, with special attention to health financing, health insurance and provider payment reform. Wenhui has experience in both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analyses. Her PhD dissertation focused on the adverse selection of government-operated insurance schemes, using panel data collected from household surveys. She also conducted pharmacoeconomics analysis and analysis on pharmaceutical policies. During the summers of 2013 and 2014, Wenhui was a visiting scholar at DGHI, exploring the rational use of medicines in China and Vietnam and the access and affordability of health services for insured cancer patients. She has also worked as a consultant to WHO for an external evaluation project.
