Research Analyst

Glaucia Salgado (she/her/hers) is a research analyst working at Duke Clergy Health Initiative. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Gerontology from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada and recently graduated from a Master of Science degree in Global Health at Duke University.  

Before joining Duke Global Health Institute, she worked for 6 years with culturally diverse older adult immigrants at community-based seniors services in British Columbia, Canada. She has also worked with gender-based violence at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Canada), the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging, and various other projects in Brazil where she is originally from.   

During her time as a graduate student at Duke University, she worked as a research assistant for the Clergy Health Initiative, developed her thesis which explored the pathways to the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and other related diseases among racially diverse population groups, participated at Bass Connections LGBTQ+ older adults health project and pandemic preparedness in India.
