Fogarty Global Health Training Program

Provide oversight and support for the National Institutes of Health / Fogarty International Center Global Health Training Program (D43, RFA-TW-16-002) in collaboration with our consortium partners, Vanderbilt, Cornell and Emory, to include: • Identify and nurture US and LMIC post-doctoral fellows and pre-doctoral scholars for carefully mentored overseas research training experiences for at least one year. • Participate in the annual recruitment/selection of incoming trainees. • Provide administrative and logistical support to place trainees at one of our global health priority research locations, primarily Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. • Identify training opportunities and mentors to build interest among the topic areas and geographical foci of greatest interest to additional potential GHF funders. • Build upon the administrative experience of Duke's Global Health Institute and Hubert Yeargan Center for Global Health to improve and maximize efficiencies that enables the highest possible proportion of funds to be directed to the trainees.
