Child health

Each year, millions of children around the world die of preventable diseases before they reach their fifth birthday. Children are our future, and ensuring their healthy growth and development is a priority for global health. DGHI researchers are exploring areas such as orphan health and how best to promote healthy eating and exercise habits early to prevent chronic conditions associated with obesity - like diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.

20% of children age 2-5 are overweight or obese.
