Week-long Series of Speakers Discussing West-African Ebola Outbreak (Sept 22 -26) Hosted by Duke Africa Initiative, DGHI, DUCIS, and AMI

Duke faculty experts on Global Health and Africa will hold a week-long series of public events on the continuing Ebola epidemic in West Africa the week of September 22-26. Events include conversations, lectures, a live videoconference from Nigeria, and a film screening, and are sponsored by the Africa Initiative, Duke University Center for International Studies (DUCIS), Duke Global Health Institute, and Program in the Arts of the Moving Image. Anyone interested in learning more about the complex dimensions of the current outbreak should attend.

There will be a showing of the film Contagion (2011; Director Steven Soderbergh) which follows the fictionalized story of a lethal airborne virus and the attempts to control it.
