For current Duke doctoral students with a deep interest in global health, the Global Health Doctoral Scholars program offers research grants to support fieldwork activities engaging the social, economic and cultural context of global health while conducting innovative research impacting health equity and expanding your professional skills and opportunities.

Program Features

  • One-time grants of up to $15,000 are available for Scholars to support field-based dissertation research.
  • In addition to funding support, scholars will have the opportunity for engagement with peers and global health leaders through participation in the annual Global Health Showcase, lunch seminars, leading professional development workshops and participating in panel discussions.

The 25-26 Scholar funding application is now open with all materials due by February 14, 2025.

Awards will be announced in March 2025 and funding will begin in April 2025. 

Funds must be in support of activities and projects already approved by your doctoral program and must be utilized within 12 months of receiving the grant.
