The Duke Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is making its free medical Spanish translation application for health care providers more widely accessible through a new Android-compatible version. A year after launching the app in the Apple Store, the free Polyglot Med Spanish Language Learning App is now available to Android users in the Google Play Store.
Polyglot is a Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish translator that is designed to minimize the language barrier between health care providers and Spanish-speaking patients. The simple-to-use app offers immediate audio translation of thousands of common words, phrases and assessment questions.
The Duke AHEC Program is pleased with the response to the language learning app, with more than 14,000 downloads in the Apple store.
The Polyglot app was featured in the Huffington Post’s Latino Voices this month.
