Maggie McGregor

Director of Development, Major Gifts and Campaigns

Maggie McGregor is responsible for the design and implementation of fundraising strategies that advance giving to the Institute and global health projects at Duke and works to identify fundraising priorities and opportunities and secure gifts to support the Institute’s work. She joined DGHI in 2023 after holding positions in development across Duke, including at Duke Health, Duke Arts, and Duke Performances. After visiting the area while working as an illustrator for the Durham-based Festival for the Eno, she relocated to North Carolina in 2015 to manage community fundraising for UNC Children’s Hospital. Prior to arriving in North Carolina, she worked in the nonprofit sector in Washington, DC, raising funds for immigrant youth, whistleblower advocacy, and autism research. Maggie has lived, worked, and studied in Argentina, Nicaragua, and Honduras, and received her B.A. in International Relations from Beloit College and her M.A. in Rhetoric from East Carolina University.
