Visualizing DHS Contraceptive Calendar Data
April 19, 2019 | 8:30am - 9:30am ET
Trent Hall
One-third of women who begin using a modern method of contraception in low-income countries discontinue within the first year, and half within the first two years, putting them at risk for unintended pregnancies as well as maternal morbidity and mortality. The current method of measuring contraceptive discontinuation (quitting, switching and method failure) relies on household surveys collected through a retrospective monthly contraceptive calendar.
Join us as we share novel approaches to visualizing contraceptive calendar data, as well as updates from our recent meeting with DHS. We aim to facilitate the use of data to inform research and programmatic efforts worldwide. Breakfast will be provided.
This event is sponsored by Center for Global Reproductive Health at Duke and the Big Data for Reproductive Health Bass Connections Team.
