This Friday, April 5, The Fuqua School of Business, along with partners from across the university including the Duke Global Health Institute, will officially launch the Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator at Duke (SEAD).
SEAD, in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), brings together interdisciplinary partners through a coordinated effort across Duke University and leverages institutional relationships and networks to create an integrated global health social entrepreneurship hub for diverse stakeholders across the globe. SEAD will mobilize a community of practitioners, investors, policymakers, faculty, staff, and students to identify, assess, help develop, build capacity of, and scale solutions, technologies, and business models for global healthcare delivery and preventive services. SEAD will also capture lessons learned and policy implications to ensure that our work impacts both entrepreneurs on the ground and the broader development community.
The inaugural event Duke Symposium on Scaling Innovations in Global Health will take place at the Fuqua School of Business from 1- 5pm. The event is an excellent opportunity for Duke faculty and students to engage and network with leaders and innovators in global health.
Featured speakers include Ariel Pablos-Méndez, Assistant Administrator for Global Health at USAID, and Alex Dehgan, Science and Technology Advisor to the Administrator at USAID. Astronaut Ron Garan, who is engaged in global health work in Rwanda, will also participate.
