A project called the IMUSE 2008 China in my Eyes Competition, is holding a competition to send six North American students to the 2008 Beijing Olympics free of charge. The competition involves writing a 500-1000 word essay or submitting one or several photographs on the topic “China in my Eyes: What China means to me.” The topic is left purposely open-ended to encourage creative thought.
The following students will be selected as IMUSE 2008 student ambassadors in an all-expenses-paid trip to the Beijing Olympics, which includes travel, accommodations and dining at a Chinese student delegate’s homes, and tickets to Olympics events (or, should they choose, a free laptop):
1. Three winners from the essay competition
2. Two winners from the photo competition
3. One winner from a “My Top Ten” survey
Ten runners-up for each competition will each receive a limited-edition 2008 Beijing Olympics collectible.
Select entries will be published on the IMUSE website with permission of their authors. This project is a collaboration between students from Harvard, Tsinghua, and Peking Universities .
Apply online; the deadline for all three contests is April 15th, 2008, and the contests are open to all students in North American postsecondary education (undergraduate and graduate).
