Martha Carlough, MD MPH is a family physician with 30 years of experience in global health, including almost 10 years in residence in Nepal and 20 years on faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill where she founded and directed the Office of Global Health Education. She is now consulting faculty with the Theology, Medicine and Culture Initiative of Duke Divinity School and practicing clinically Samaritan Health Center. Her areas of expertise include both clinical and public health aspects of maternal and child health, refugee care, working in complex humanitarian emergencies and the intersection of theology and global health. She has also worked as a consultant for IntraHealth International, JHPIEGO and DFID.
