Using the infrastructure of a Health and Demographic Surveillance System, we studied the distribution of traditional cardiovascular risk factors in a peri-urban population in Kenya. Publication available at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=23872588

The most commonly reported cardiovascular risk factors in this community are excessive alcohol intake, smoking tobacco and a diet low in fruits and vegetables.
