Practice-Based Pathway: Internship with JSI Inc.: Globally-Funded and Bilateral Tuberculosis Grants

Project overview

This summer, I was an intern in the International Division of a global health consulting firm, John Snow Inc. (JSI). I worked with four programs/entities within JSI.

As the literature and major global health organizations move towards structures and models that use a lens of Person-Centered Care (PCC), USAID remains mindful of that. JSI received a request to use existing data, from a survey called the Quality of Tuberculosis Services Assessment (QTSA), to structure a model of PCC that could be utilized across countries and into the future. As a global health student moving mindfully into the industry, PCC sounded like the perfect entry point as well as a way to create a solid foundation in an up-and-coming topic that is integrating itself into all projects and teams. My final deliverable will be a PCC-focused visualization of TB services and a manuscript on the same topic.

This project was only a part of my duties as an intern, and my poster details other programs and projects that I supported over the summer.
