The DGHI Communications Team is the recipient of two InSpire Awards from the North Carolina chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for its work to market the Master of Science in Global Health (MSc-GH) and the DGHI e-newsletter.

Working alongside education program staff and others, the DGHI Communications Team received a Silver Award of Excellence for its efforts to develop and execute an integrated marketing plan for the MSc-GH program. The plan includes a redesign of the program’s web presence, targeted email marketing outreach, tailored print materials and mailings, the use of technology to engage with international applicants, and coordination across all online platforms including social media, video and blogging. This year, the MSc-GH received a record number of applications from 17 countries and is on target for record enrollment this Fall.

The DGHI team also received an honorable mention for the Global Health Insider e-newsletter in the Bronze multimedia communications category. Since the e-newsletter was launched in September 2007, one of the first at Duke, it has undergone three major design and content overhauls to offer a product of the highest quality to a growing community of subscribers at Duke and around the world who want to stay connected with DGHI. Judged on creativity, quality and technical excellence, the most recent edition of the e-newsletter incorporates a simple, clean design and layout and better presentation of content.
