SRT Kenya 2023 - Iterative Improvement of mSaada: A Reproductive Health Screening Tool
Project overview
mSaada is a mobile health app that trains Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) on how to guide women through HPV self-testing and setting up the next steps in their reproductive care. The preparation of the app itself involved designing sample processing workflows and practice case scenarios for CHVs. mSaada has the dual goal of educating its users on reproductive health with a focus on reducing stigma around the topic. Thus, close collaboration with office staff yielded educational materials and visuals to accompany CHVs when they are confronted by questions from clients. Beyond the app itself, heavy observation of sample processing between the office, field, and processing site established a baseline understanding where mSaada can expedite the process. Continued optimization of workflow and educational materials can be expected in the future.
