Keynote speaker Benjamin Mason Meier

On Friday, November 6, from 10am to 1:15pm, the Duke Law School will host a Global Health Law and Policy Symposium, featuring keynote speaker Benjamin Mason Meier, a scholar at Georgetown Law School's O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, and a faculty fellow at UNC's Institute for Global Health and Infectious Disease.
Meier has written and presented extensively on the development and evolution of human rights in global health governance through the World Health Organization.
The event will also feature two panel discussions on lessons from the recent Ebola outbreak and human rights issues in global health governance. Panelists include, among others, Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI) director Mike Merson, medicine and global health professor Chris Woods, and DGHI affiliate faculty member Robert Cook-Deegan.
The event is co-sponsored by law firm Kilpatrick Townsend, DGHI, the Health Law Society, the Human Rights Law Society, and the International Law Society. It was co-organized by Tu Tran, a 2014 graduate of the Duke Master of Science in Global Health program.
